We see life as a two way street.
Our vision: Coastal communities and the environment flourish through the sustainable development of tourism.
Our mission: To enable youth in coastal communities to be proactive agents of design for their future.
Through participatory media, creative arts, English, technology, and water-sports, our programmes cultivate knowledge-sharing and and positions youth as key stakeholders to guide the sustainable development of tourism encouraging the preservation of their environmental and cultural heritage.
Programmes // Action Communication
From stop-motion animation to street art, filmmaking, surfing, web design and English, students in our year-round programs learn through situational activities targeting language, skills, and knowledge necessary to access new economic opportunities derived from tourism’s growth, as well as the means to determine tourism’s contribution to environmental/ cultural development, being the drivers behind it.
A creative, translatable, engaging, social approach accessible and relatable at the grassroots level and beyond, our program is critical to addressing the challenges of sustainable socio-economic development and ecological conservation in isolated coastal communities where tourism is impacting.
We employ a combination of quantifying measuring techniques coupled with using emotion as a way of measuring impact.
Quantifying measuring techniques involve, for example, how many students attend classes daily, skill progress made in speaking English or using a camera and changes in behaviour regarding, for example, rubbish disposal.
Emotion as a proxy for measuring impact involve, for example, the digital stories students create and record, demonstrating how change can be shown “one story” at a time.
